Outstanding opportunities for emerging string quartets and individuals

The Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance is seeking groups and indivuals for multi-week residencies in 2017 and 2018.

These residencies are designed to give emerging quartets the opportunity to expand repertoire and prepare for competitions under the guidance of LAMP's resident and visiting masters in the tranquil environment of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, as well as performing in our beautiful and intimate recital hall located in the historic Lunenburg Academy. The period of residency is flexible.

LAMP is a post-graduate, non-academic music school offering high level instruction on performance and interpretive techniques. We offer coaching in all instruments but with a special focus on string quartets, composition and bel canto.

Who is eligible?

This is a post-graduate level residency open to young artists of any nationality. Members must have a university degree or conservatory diploma, and must be under the age of 33 by December 31, 2018.

October 23 - November 19, 2017: One-to-four week opportunities to work with master musicians including members of the Dover Quartet, violinist Mark Fewer, violist Burt Wathen, cellist Julian Schwarz and the world's top double bassist Joel Quarrington.

October 26 - November 2, 2017: Chamber Music Academy Led by members of the world's hottest string ensembles, the Dover Quartet (class complete)

November 6 - 12, 2017: Rossini, Le 6 sonate for 2 violins, cello and bass. Study the Ricordi critical edition with Mark Fewer, Markus Placci, Juluan Schwarz and Joel Quarrington. Individuals or pre-formed groups

May 7 - June 24, 2018: Walter Delahunt

May 7 - 13, 2018: The Ariel String Quartet

May 14 - 20, 2018: Duo Concertante

June 4 - 24, 2018: Friction Quartet

June 11 - 24, 2018: The Iris Ensemble


Tuition

$500/ individual/week,   duo $800/week   trio $900/week and quartet $1000/week
